The BMW Club Oxford
Welcome to The BMW Club where like minded individuals such as you share a common interest in the BMW marque. Founded in 1951 the membership is spread throughout the UK and Ireland and is organised into 15 regional Sections, our Section being Oxford – BMW Club Oxford. There are regular Meetings and Events around the country as well as trips abroad organised by the various Sections and as a Club member you are welcome to participate in any of them, details of organisers can be found in the monthly magazine, the Journal.

In addition we have over 50 suppliers who offer club members a discount on their services, these range from Ferries, Insurance, Clothing and Motorcycle accessories and many others. Some BMW Motorrad Dealers offer a 10% discount on servicing and repairs which can recoup your membership costs.If you want to maintain your own BMW we have our own dedicated tool hire service to enable you to maintain nearly all types of BMW.
The purpose of the BMW Club is simply to help you get the most from owning a BMW motorcycle, modern or classic, and to have a good time. We do this by sharing knowledge and experience amongst our members, organising opportunities to ride both in the UK and in Europe, and through social events. We also work closely with our local BMW Motorrad dealers and have excellent relationships with them including member discounts. The BMW Club is a very friendly motorcycle club with a wide range of interests, we also have a high proportion of couples inn our membership and love to do a lot of riding and socialising both in the UK and abroad!.
To be eligible to join the BMW Club you need to own a BMW motorcycle (!) and there is an annual membership fee of £32 and a further £3 for your partner to join. In return the BMW Club Oxford offers a range of benefits including:
- Full programme of membership events including riding, social events etc please see the 2022 calendar
- Access to technical assistance through the BMW Club Forum and also technical advise from fellow members
- Monthly BMW Club weekend ride during the prime riding season March – October
- Two mid-week Meetup rides per month, running all year
- Five Pub social meetings per month (different pubs across the area) to meet fellow members and discuss bikes, riding etc
- Indoor meetings and talks at Uffington in the Winter Season November – March
- Overseas trips, normally 1-2 per year. Recent destinations include Brittany, Bordeaux, Germany (Black Forest), Austria, Italian Lakes, Spain & Portugal, Berlin. (These trips are typically very cost effective compared to commercial offerings and as you go with your friends its more fun!)
- Hotel weekends in the UK normally 1-2 per year, recent destinations include Ludlow & Wales, the Lake District, Rye, Bournemouth, Torquay
- Members’ discounts including BMW Motorrad dealers

Still Undecided – Why Not Try
Oxford Motorcycle Riders Meetup?
Perhaps you have reached this point and you are still undecided? Well we could offer a couple of points for your consideration (1) The BMW Club is pretty good value at £32 per year and to fill a GSA with super-unleaded is going to cost you about £38 to get you about 300 miles! (2) Modern and many desirable classic motorcycles are expensive machines to buy and own so you need to get the most out of your investment. If the bike spends its life in the garage then it will become a bit of a white elephant, you need to use it to get the best from it and joining the BMW Club is the best way to do that (for BMW motorcycles). Being a club member can also help with the costs and getting the right advice, (3) For most of us many things that we do are just more fun when done with other people, whether it is enjoying a ride that a friend has planned, discussing your new bike purchase over a coffee, setting off on an overseas adventure or solving a tricky problem. Simply put its more fun together!
We do have a sort of ‘Try and Buy’ option you can join our Oxford Motorcycle Riders (OMR) Meetup group so you can have a go at riding with us and meeting some Oxford members all you have to do is register:
