Our next ‘Meetup’ event – Pub social and film @ The White Hart, Swindon on May 20th.

Tonight’s Film     The Motorcycle Diaries

In the absence of our regular Meetup rides we have been having some fun with Zoom. It’s given us a chance to enjoy online Pub Socials and at the same time watch a motorcycle-themed film.

As May 20th is this month’s 3rd Wednesday, we meet virtually at the White Hart Inn, Swindon. The downside is you will need to serve your own favourite drink .

If you have not yet joined the club’s Meetup group, not a  problem. Just follow the guide at:  https://bmwcluboxford.com/bmw-club-oxford-meetup-rides-a-beginners-guide/

Pre-meet prep : you will find tonight’s film ‘The Motorycle Diaries’ available to subscribers on Amazon Prime or rented for £0.99p.

It’s a biopic about the journey and written memoir of the 23-year-old Ernesto Guevara, later know as the revolutionary Che Guevara. The film recounts his 1952 journey not long before completing his medical degree, he and his older friend Alberto Granado, a biochemist, leave Buenos Aires to travel across South America. While there is a goal at the end of their journey – they intend to work in a leper colony in Peru – the main purpose is initially fun and adventure. They desire to see as much of Latin America as they can, more than 8,700 miles in just four and a half months, while Granado’s purpose is also to bed as many women as will fall for his pickup lines. Their initial method of transport is Granado’s dilapidated Norton 500 motorcycle christened La Poderosa (“The Mighty One”).
