R1200GS Adventure

This is a view of the R1200GS adventure 2008, a very fine machine which has found favour with many riders who like the long distance capability of the machine but prefer less wind shield than the R1200RT.

  1. R1200 GSAs are great machines for long distance touring. The luggage is well designed and with pannier bags you can check in to hotels very easilt.I love my GSA

  2. I still love my GSA, but am looking for a bit of comfort. The tyres I have used so far are Michelin Anekees (OEM fitment) and Metzler Tourance. I’m on my second set of Tourances which seem to perform very reliably in both wet and dry on “normal” roads, but on motorways I can feel the blocky tread pattern.

Steve has previously used Bridgestone Trailwings which look more like a road tyre and seem smoother on road than the Metzlers.

Bob has gone the whole hog and fitted road tyres (BT02 somethings) which he finds give very sharp handling on road.

Any advice as I need to get some tyres before the German trip?
