On April 26th, 2014 the BMW Club AGM will take place at the Sudbury House Hotel, 56 London Road, Faringdon, Oxfordshire SN7 7AA. Registration begins at 10:00am and the meeting starts at 11:00am promptly. You must bring your membership card with you to be allowed to vote. Associates and invited guests are welcome to attend but guests may not vote. All members attending the meeting will be welcome to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. After the AGM you can relax in the hotel and enjoy a talk by Dr’s Pat and Ness Garrod on travelling the ‘World Overland” by BMW R100GS. In the evening there is a Grand Gala Dinner in the Hotel dining room. The cost is just £20 per person. See the details and booking form in the Journal. There will also be some light entertainment after dinner.
There are plenty of good pubs and restaurants in Faringdon and great riding roads all around the location. Not far to the north is historic Oxford with its University Colleges embedded in the heart of the city. The same distance to the south west is Swindon with its excellent Great Western Railway Museum and adjacent ‘engine shed’ shopping malls. To the west are the beautiful Cotswolds with rolling countryside. You may also like to visit Blenheim Palace, built for the Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Winston Churchill. To the east is the vale of the White Horse, the Chilterns and the Thames Valley.
