Many thanks to all those members who participated in the 2015 AGM at Uffington Village Hall on Sunday, we had just under 50 at the meeting. We collected over £114 in donations for the Air Ambulance and about the same amount again in Christmas card sales organised by Mike Dore which should take us over our section target of £750 for the year – more details on this and our 2016 plans later.
To give a very quick summary of the AGM, main points are (1) Oxford section has 436 people (members and associates) the largest is has EVER been (2) The Oxford appears to be the largest section in the BMW Club now with about 10% of all members (3) Finances are in great shape (4) Social calendar is looking very good for 2016 (5) Tim Read is stepping down from the secretary role and will be replaced by Ian Hartley. John Wheeler is stepping down from the committee for personal reasons and Martin Skennerton is joining so the committee size is unchanged!
Tim Bolderston will now be taking over from John Wheeler as our contact for Barnstormer Thames Valley.
As things are looking very good for the section we have decided to keep on working in the same direction but will pay extra attention to (1) engaging our newly recruited members into the section (2) implementing the new technologies (Facebook especially) and making sure members can use these new services and (3) building the core of the club by increasing collaboration and partnership.
They say the camera never lies but I am hoping in this case it might be wrong! Many thanks to John Broad for the snaps.
Our next indoor meeting will be at Uffington on Sunday December 13th so hope to see you then. Steve
