Just waiting to go back on the R100GS, the Bings have been vapour blasted by Doug Cox, Reading. Doug does an excellent job and the price was very reasonable.

Hi Bob, yes one does have to strip them before cleaning. I also had the R100RS carbs done so I had some experience the second time around. Basically you remove any rubber parts and also plated parts. You can’t easily protect the insert at the top of the carburettor but it is easy to polish and then coat with a satin clearcoat to protect it from corrosion.
Not difficult to do!
The result certainly makes it look as if it was worth the effort
