I hope all those on the Mosel trip have had a good journey home. Geoff, Nick and I certainly did (with only one slight detour in Belgium) although it was VERY wet at times. Happened upon John and Wendy whilst filtering through the tea time rush on the M25. After Geoff and Nick carried on round the M25 towards the M40 I continued with John and Wendy, through Bracknell, until M4 J13 where they shot off up the A34 and eventually arrived home at 18:15 in heavy rain!

I must say that we both had a great time in Mont Royal, and even the rain could not dampen our spirits. We had a damp ride to our overnight stop in Valenciennes with Ann and Bob, Andy and Dave Weston. Our arrival there was quite early, so we caught a very modern tram/bus into the city centre with Ann and Bob. We left this morning in rain to a wet ride, almost to Dunkerque. We manage to catch an earlier train through the channel tunnel, with a more brighter ride home, arriving approx. 15.00 hours.
We definitely agree with Graham. The rain tried hard to mess the holiday up but in the end we probably went out and about more than we originally intended. Bob
Wendy and i had a good run home…no dramas. Well one maybe!…we stopped to don waterproofs under a bridge in Germany and i dismounted to the offside, as the camber of the road was against me. In doing so i caught the seat with my left heel and pulled the bike over onto my standing leg !!!ooopps . Good job i could rely on Wendy to help me lift it back up. Happily no damage to me or bike. Caught and passed you all ha ha . Glad to be home for Saturday spring clean and dry ride out locally on the Sunday. Ready for the next one !!!! JOHN
Glad to hear that you survived the fall. We must have stopped at about the same time as you, when we ran into a wall of rain and without the wet gear on. I could hear you coming about five minutes before we saw you.
Bob.
We had a good trip back with Ken and Fiona via Antwerp and Brugges (brought the tee shirt!). Many thanks to everyone for making this such a good week looking forward to next year already! Steve & Catherine
Hi John,
I know the feeling I dropped my R1200GSA on my drive inside a week of collecting it when I thought the sidestand was down, started lowering and realised too late that it was not! It is amazing how heavy a bike is when it is leaned over. I managed to get underneath the bike to minimise damage but I had to get my next door neighbour Nicola to help me get it back upright to minimise damage! Steve
