Finally have time to publish a few words about this year’s Lechlade camping weekend!
After last year’s washout the weather was much kinder this year and a warm and mostly sunny weekend was enjoyed by around 20 people in attendance.
It was good to see old friends and to meet a few new ones including members of Oxford Section I had not met before.
The petrol cooker was put to good use supplying morning tea and coffee to help everyone recover from late nights in the town. The local pubs and brewery were well supported as usual!
The rideout on Saturday went to Highworth where 2 more bikes joined the group for a tour of the Wiltshire countryside, visiting Avebury and Silbury hill before stopping for refreshments at Aldbourne.
The return route was via Lambourn to White Horse Hill at Uffington and back to Lechlade for more food and drinks in the town.
The site has been booked again for next year on Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st of June.
This was a really excellent weekend Dave. Dave kept us supplied with tea and coffee, and there were lots of people from our region and from several other regions, who I had not met before.
Well done Dave!
Glad the weather was good ,and ride out interesting .
Maybe think BBQ …..for the next one !! Ummmm
