One of regular mid week “Meet Up” rides https://www.meetup.com/BMW-Club-Oxford-Motorcycle-Riders/events/273999171/ where we encourage new riders to join us on mostly traffic free routes, with a view to them progressing to be BMW club members, a great way to try before you buy…
We also ask people to donate £3 to the “kitty” which is then donated to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance TVAA and a tree planting scheme to offset our carbon footprint, raising £17.80 on this ride for good causes.
We met at Milton Park Costs on a bright, sunny morning, somewhat unusual for mid-October. Along with our regular members, we welcomed other riders for the first time, Rowena who has a beautiful 800GT and Martin from the local Thames Valley RoSPA group.
Around 9 riders attended this popular ride out to the home of British motoring, after a pre ride safety briefing we ventured out on roads less travelled. A quite demanding technical route and a “scenic” mid ride stop outside of some random garages.
The drop off system worked perfectly, and we all arrived safely at the museum. A few of our number had family commitments and had to leave, the remaining enjoying lunch in the museum, where the conversation included sat navs, riding techniques etc etc and of course the usual banter which made for a very convivial atmosphere.
Look forward to seeing everyone on the next meet up ride out..
