On Sunday 13th April there is a run to St Fagans near to Cardiff in South Wales. This is a museum where old buildings have been dismantled from their original site and reassembled at St Fagans. The run will leave from the café that used to be the little chef, next to the BP garage on the A420. This is just to the North of Faringdon and has a post code of SN7 8PY. This post code will place you about 1km North of the café.
We will be leaving at 9-15am and driving along the A417 towards Cirencester, round Gloucester and on to Monmouth for a break in one of their pubs, across the road from the car park.
Monmouth Drink Stop
Then we will head Westwards towards Abergavenny, and the Heads of the Valley road, then South towards St Fagans. We should arrive at about 12-45pm.
There are drinks at St Fagans, and some sandwiches and paninis, but not any cooked meals. So it might be best to take sandwiches and buy drinks.
Motorcycle parking is free at Monmouth and St Fagans. Entry at St Fagans is free, but they ask people to make a voluntary contribution in a box at the entrance.
Some of you will be going to the Bournemouth trip, but if you are not this trip might provide you with a good balance between a ride out and a leisurely look at buildings and life as it used to be. A photo taster follows; the inside of the church is charming and colourful.
Hi Steve ,
Looks interesting! Well done for organising it .
Hope you have a good run out . John & Wendy .
Hi Steve, looks a really interesting run, the interior of the church is striking. Would be worth taking some photos for a run report on the blog? Steve
