June saw ten members of the Oxford section heading for North Wales and the Cambrian Mountains for 5 packed riding days.Based at the excellent motorcycle-friendly Cain Valley hotel in Lanfyllin (www.cainvalleyhotel.net/) -great rooms/food/secure parking. Lake Bala as the gateway to Snowdonia was just a 30 minute ride.

Day 1 was an exploration of the Malvern and Shropshire Hills on route from Burford. Day 2 Snowdonia by way of Betws-y-Coed, Harlech, Barmouth and Machynlleth.Day 3 out past Rydd and onto Aberystwyth for lunch via the mountain road from Machynlleth. Home along the gorgeous A44. Day 4 and the weather remains kind to us. Longest day today, up to Anglesey with a visit to Trac Mon. It’s a track day for saloon cars! Home over the mountain road from Ffestiniog – we seem to have Wales to ourselves – apart from the odd sheep! Day 5 and Saturday finds us on a gentle diagonal toward the A44 and back to Oxford. The great weather was only exceeded by the quality of Welsh roads and each other’s company. Diolch Cymru!
