Ride out to Hook Norton Brewery.
We met on a warm Saturday morning at the Riverside Café at Benson.
We were pleased to welcome for the first time David Dillion and his friends Greg and Marion, Keith Talbot, Brian and Lillian Garforth, Tim and Jill Bolderston and David Holland, 23 bikes and 32 people left Benson for Hook Norton the ride was through Oxfordshire lanes, villages and back roads, passing Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Renault Formula One.
The one incident was in Great Tew where we encountered a Horse Box with Ponies for parties in it, we had to pull on the other side of the road so it could pass the parked cars.
At the brewery we were met by 11 other members, who had gone direct and included new members Richard and Jo Hoskins and George Lewis. The Brewery tour was very good, we had 4 groups and we saw the way beer has been made for about 150 yrs, and the two shire horses that are used to deliver beer to some local inns, the brewery museum and the village museum. Our tour guide was very informative and it made for a good afternoon.
After the tours we were all asked to sample all the different varieties of the award winning beer that they make at Hook Norton Brewery, and before we all left to go our separate ways we were all given a engraved glass as a memento of the visit!
Thanks Rosemary and Dave for a very nice ride and excellent tour of the Hook Norton Brewery. We enjoyed it so much we will plan to come back in the week when they are brewing! The horses were great and must make quite a sight delivering to the local pubs. Steve & Catherine.
if you’d been a real sport you’d have bought us a coffee at the Le Manoir.

Geoff said club funds would not stretch to that.
