I have just purchased a new K1300GT to replace my ageing R1150GS. I wanted something that would be better for long motorway journeys with the weather protection of a full fairing and convenience of the electric screen and heated everything!
The K1300GT does not disappoint it really is a fantastic bike. I had been thinking of an RT but really the GT is so good and like all BMW K bikes the engineering is very solid, it feels like it could run forever.
I suffered from an early switchgear glitch, which seems to get most owners (and presumably RT owners now as well?) but fingers crossed everything else is running just fine!

My K1300S has only been used on day trips up to now. I am hoping to do a track day or two. Hopefully the BMW Club will be putting on track days at Cadwell and Snetterton in 2011!I too suffered from embarassing switchgear failure on a hot day at Towcester last Autumn. The bike had to be recovered home but started fine next morning for me to ride into NOG for the remedial action.Need to put more miles on the K this year.
