Some of you may already have heard the sad news that Kevin Ash, one of the leading motorcycling journalists, has died whilst testing the new BMW R1200GS in South Africa.

I am sure we will all miss Kevin’s Ash on Bikes blog and his regular and informative articles in the Daily Telegraph and MCN. Kevin was an authority on BMW motorcycles and had authored books on the history of the marque, he was also a qualified engineer, see this article on Kevin as one of the world’s best motorcycling journalists with a picture of a roadside repair on a 1978 R100RS.
