Motorcycle Live 2017 Report
Author Bob Mack
This years show didn’t seem to have quite as many exhibitors, as usual, but there was plenty to see and do.
Besides the Live Action Arena, where riders were defying gravity and performing amazing stunts, there were opportunities to Test Ride Motorcycles around the local roads and on the dirt within the show area. BMW Off Road skills were demonstrating all sorts of clever things to help deal with the off road moments.
The BMW Club stand seemed busy and hopefully did some useful recruiting.
Most of the manufacturers had plenty of new Motorcycles to show off. There were new versions of existing models and variations of the theme that BMW have found success with where they have a base model, such as the R Nine T, and build models from it such as the Café Racer or the GS Urban.
Emissions control was a theme with a few manufacturers going down the Forced Induction Route to create Horsepower and Torque in smaller more fuel efficient power units.
On the Save the Planet Theme, there were a good a number of quite advanced Electric Motorcycles on offer.
The BMW Motorrad stand had a very comprehensive display of their model range with several variants of each Model available to sit on.
The recently announced New Models, F750GS, F850GS, C400X and K1600 Grand America were there to gaze at.
Plenty of accessories to spend your pocket money on and plenty of travel experts to help inspire your next adventures.
Well worth the visit.
