New Triumph 1200

Good Day All

In the December issue of MSL mag is an article of the new release early next year of the Triumph Explorer 1200,few picks with a few details one of which is shaft drive.

So BMW could have competition on their hands as per 1200gs especially if the reliability and performance is better than BMW.

Also news of the BMW scooter release in March and with Honda revealing a new 700cc twin motor to fit the integra could be rather interesting year two wheel wise.

This has generated a lot of interest so I thought a photo might be interesting, Steve!

  1. Hi Dave, certainly competition has been increasing for the R1200GS/A from Ducati with the latest multistrada as well. I wonder if this may encourage BMW to accelerate the launch of their water-cooled boxer next year?

With the scooter BMW will be giving the competition some of their own medicine as well!

  2. Yes the Triumph 1200 Tiger Explorer looks interesting. Will be anticipating a head to head report against the BMW GS (Rallye) new colours version in the near future. Plan to view at NEC later this month.
Also of note to the ‘armchair movers’ amongst us is the Jan 2012 issue of RIDE magazine. Recently delivered thro’ my letterbox and contains test report comprising BMW K1600 GT SE, BMW R1200 RT, Kawa 1400GTR, Honda ST1300 Pan European. Plus additional article on strip down of 100,000 mile BMW R11100RS. A worthy read

  3. Thanks Steve,
The BMW MOA report includes this extract:
“Then there is the new F800R: … Now this successful model has been given an added touch of visual appeal.”
This is something I want for Christmas, not the bike but the visual appeal! LOL

  4. Hi Steve,
Non BMW I’m afraid, Victory Vegas 8-Ball rear shock, one gives 75mm travel the other 100mm.
