Cotswold Ride Out

Cotswold Ride Out 09.06.2013 002We would like to thank everyone who supported our first ride out.  We were surprised at the number of people attending, in total there were 24 bikes and about 34 people. Our first destination was The Falkland Arms at Great Tew.  This gave people the opportunity to have a late breakfast or a mid morning snack and look around the historic village.

After a short break we continued on our way through the picturesque Cotswold countryside. Passing through well known places such as Bourton on the Water and the village of Lower Slaughter which is built on both banks of the River Eye. We also passed by the  17th century Lower Slaughter Manor.

Continuing 0n to Lower Swell, a village well known for it’s mellow stone cottages.

On arrival at The Cotswold Farm Park, the sun made an appearance and a group of us enjoyed a picnic, while others took advantage of the facilities provided by the Farm Park. A few us ventured into the park and went on the Farm Safari tour which proved to be very interesting.

  1. Well done Paul and Sally
A fantastic first ride out . Well structured and more enjoyable because you had the sunny weather. ( How did you do that ?).
We liked the ‘olde worlde ‘ feel to the Falkland Arms . Was that due to our members ages I wonder ?……………..and even if was only tea we were drinking!
The ride pace felt good , and there was plentiful twists and turns together with lovely scenes along the way .
The rare breeds farm was ok …Wendy fed many a rare goat , Gloucestershire old spot ,and Tamworth pigs . Even spotted that very rare thing on a BMW ride out……a Triumph Trophy ! ( sorry Alan )
Would go again tommorrow…… Shall we ??
    Cheers. John and Wendy

    1. Thanks John, kind words from an experienced tourer. You are a braver man than me mentioning the “T” word on this site!

  2. Sorry we couldn’t be with you. Great feed back from all…….you’ll be starting to organise the next one soon then?

    Bob
