Cirencester Loop to The Boat Inn, Thrupp
Hosted by James O’Shea
We are hoping to reintroduce our bi-weekly “meet up” rides, depending on Government and COMO advice.
Our rides comply with BMF and HM Gov. guidance issued previously and will be updated to comply with new guidance.
Our proposed December routes are one of a number of regular mid-week runs on a mix of A and B roads through the beautiful Cotswold countryside, ending up at various destinations, see below for details:-
Details
Hopefully the current lockdown will ease on 2nd December and we will return to the ‘Rule of Six’.
With that in mind, this rideout, subject to reasonable weather, will be our first foray after Lockdown 2! We will gather at 9.30am in the jewel of Cotswold Garden Centres at Burford – hopefully re-opened. Plan B is the Starbucks takeaway just down the road.
Around 10am we head off down the B4425 towards Bibury, sadly neglected for the present by overseas visitors. Turning north before we enter Cirencester, we crack north along the A435 up the Churn valley – a sumptuous flowing strip of tarmac – be sure to be wearing your grippiest tyres! Turning east at Seven Springs we navigate the A436/B4068 to Stow-on-the-Wold. A short break at Churchill as we cruise the B4450 to Chipping Norton, where you might be lucky enough to secure an autograph from the former First Lord of the Treasury! Last bit now through Charlbury over to Woodstock and then to lunch at The Boat Inn at Thrupp.
To keep everyone safe, the usual Covid-19 rules apply. Please refresh your memory on Rule of 6 riding here: https://bmwcluboxford.com/rideouts-under-covid/
This is the route we will follow: 71 miles – 2 hours, plus a leg stretch along the way:

Please load it in your satnav to anticipate direction changes.

Hope you can join us. Two places remaining as of 13th November.
